In this episode, Mike and Rodney look back at the third and final session of the D&D Next livestream game of A:1 Slave Pits of the Undercity. Mike used miniatures and D&D Dungeon Tiles to build a set-piece encounter for this last session and Mike and Rodney talk about how this affected the play, and how DMs could integrate this and other styles into their game in D&D Next. They also touch on one hour rests, renewable character resources and plans for the next live stream.

For those of you who missed a session of the game, we've started livestreaming sessions of R&D testing the most current iteration of D&D Next. While we have wrapped up this adventure, additional R&D live streams will follow in the coming weeks. We have session one and two in the archives, and the final session can be viewed below:


WHAT IS PODCASTING?

Podcasting is delivering audio and video content on demand so that it can be enjoyed at the user's convenience. The main benefit of podcasting is that listeners can sync content to their media player and take it with them to listen whenever they want to. But they're not just for iPods…the files are ready to watch or listen to on just about any computer.

To Subscribe to the Dungeons & Dragons Podcast:

If you already have iTunes on your computer, click here and you'll be directed to the Dungeons & Dragons podcast in the iTunes directory. Click on the subscribe button there and you're all set.

If you do not have iTunes:

  1. Go to http://www.apple.com/podcasting/
  2. Download the latest version of iTunes
  3. Launch iTunes.
  4. From the dropdown menus, select Advanced --- Subscribe to Podcast
  5. When prompted for a URL, enter http://www.wizards.com/dnd/rsspodcast.xml and click OK.

Once you subscribe to the podcast, iTunes will automatically check for new files and download them to your computer. To ensure that you get timely updates, set your Podcast Settings to check for new episodes every hour (the Settings button is in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window, or you can find it under Edit --- Preferences --- Podcast).
