Those seeking to find knowledge in the form of artifacts and treasure might be recruited by the Collectors to assist them in this capacity. However, although a job might suit you, the organization surrounding the job might not. The background presented in this article could provide your character with a few interesting hooks as an adherent of Ioun.

The Collectors, an ancient order dedicated to Ioun, sends missionaries from great libraries and vaults to recover lost knowledge and artifacts. Two major branches exist in the Collectors. The first, the excavators, sends its members out to brave dangerous ruins and recover valuable artifacts. The second branch has chroniclers, who travel the world and seek out geniuses, experts, and prophets to record their thoughts and preserve them for future generations. Both branches of the Collectors strive against those who seek to hide knowledge away from the world out of greed or fear.
