Jelger Wiegersma is the champion of Grand Prix Göteborg!

A modest 461 players showed up to battle it out with Mirrodin Sealed Deck and Rochester Draft. The field might be small by European standards but the quality was not. In day two there were 6 Pro Tour winners with 15 titles between them playing. Early leaders Jens Thoren and Tuomo Nieminen had nightmare days while Tommi Hovi stayed on course to reach the final 8.

In a top 8 containing the current Pro Player of the Year, current World Champion and 3 Pro Champions it was Jelger Wiegersma who finally got rid of the nearly tag and claimed a much deserved first title with a highly aggressive white-green deck. The final was quick, brutal and went to three games. Jelger came racing out the blocks in the third with a swarm of soldiers that was simply too fast for Hovi’s 3-colour black deck.
