I playtested with my former dorm buddies. I also read Magic articles online extensively, and especially the Drafting with Rich Hoaen feature on Star City.

What Standard deck are you playing? Why did you choose it?

Black-white Husk. I was worried about the Tron matchup, but I figured that the metagame would be defined by decks that beat Tron, not Tron. Also, I was comfortable with Husk.

What strategy did you use for the Coldsnap draft?
I tried to read signals. I went green-red.

Blue-white-black Reanimator. I switched to it the night before because it can be good sometimes.

Draft Blue-black-red snow.

Ghazi-Glare, because it is good against creatures. Sadly it is bad in this Top 8.

Don't touch a green card while forcing snow.

Tron. I was going to play black-white, but it's wicked lame, so I audibled to the deck I cashed with in Hawaii.

I was going to force mono-blue, but I saw some black cards, and Blizzard Specter tabled in pack 2, so I moved into black.
