I ntrigue is an essential ingredient in my home campaigns. For intrigue to work, a D&D campaign needs three things. The first is layer upon layer of mysteries to be solved. A DM needs to riddle the campaign with secrets, and then pile more secrets on top of them so that when the characters solve one mystery, more mysteries present themselves.
