Fabian Rockwell
Top 31, 1991 Mid-Pacific Regional Championships
In the earliest days of Magic, when the Earth was ruled by the serpent people, decks could be as small as 40 cards. The legendary Fabian Rockwell played this deck at the first round of the second tier of the Mid-Pacific Regional Championships, and ran off a near-perfect 4-2-9-4 record, which is more impressive when you remember that the scoring system at the time gave three points for a win, two points for a draw, one point for a loss, and 6 bonus points for being the first match to finish each round. Fabian's strategy was to play creatures and attack with them, which befuddled his stupid opposition, most of whom had barely figured out how to wear hats.
