It was a powerhouse of a Top 8. No one could guess the winner; there was simply too much talent. However, it was Boston's own Amateur Dynamo Josh Smith who took home the gold. With two byes thanks to his high rating, Smith smashed the swiss with his homegrown blue-black-green control deck. Anticipating a field of Miracle-Gro, Smith had plenty of tools maindeck, and a whopping thirteen card sideboard against Alan Comer's blue-green monstrosity. Comer commented before the finals that Smith would destroy Kibler, and a monster draw in the third game saw that prophecy come true. Congratulations to Josh Smith, Grand Prix - Houston Champion!
