2001 Grand Prix Shizuoka Coverage
In what he describes as "The most nerve-wracking money draft I've ever been in", Kohei Yamadaya managed to draft a bomb-heavy blue-white-green deck and pilot it to the finals. There he met Masahiko Morita, a regular at the top of the standings of Japanese tournaments, and a player thirsty for his first title. In a tense three-game match, Yamadaya showed that he had Hoop Dreams of his own. Congratulations to Kohei Yamadaya, Grand Prix - Shizuoka 2001 Champion!

Quick Interview (archive)
Tell us what color combination you want to draft in Odyssey, and why.
| Ryouma Shiozu: Red, for the removal. If not red, then blue. I personally have trouble playing green, and I always seem to lose with a green-red deck. |
Tsuyoshi Douyama: Blue-white. I like to play blue anyway, and it lets me avoid fighting people over green. |
Toshiharu Niwa: Green-blue, for the fatties and bounce. |
